Ella Sri Lanka Agriculture and livestock
Ella Divisional Secretariat is located in the Divisional Secretary's division of the Ella Divisional Secretariat of the Department of Divisional Secretary's division. It covers an area of 111 sq. Km. A group of people working in different sectors is the main livelihood of the people. Accordingly, the number of employed in the agro sector is 9174. In agriculture, the number of jobseekers in the agriculture sector is 9,184, but there are a growing share of agriculture in addition to their major jobs.
Vegetable cultivation and Vegetable crop cultivation are mainly carried out under the agriculture sector and in addition animal husbandry is also carried out. There are no large irrigation in the division and 555 hectares under minor irrigation. Gardening as well as large-scale agricultural lands are cultivated. New agriculture has gained newer livelihood, as agriculture has been largely transplanted to the public life of the population and very fertile land and productivity.

6.2.1 Paddy cultivation
Although the paddy cultivation is carried out under two irrigation schemes and rainfall systems in the divisional secretariat divisions, more paddy paddy is harvested by minor irrigation. Accordingly, the total extent of paddy fields cultivated under minor irrigation is 1415.5 acres. The total number of paddy fields belonging to it is 3529. Rain count numbers are 26.9 acres and the paddy fields are 58. Paddy cultivation is carried out in Rawana Ella, Karagollaella, Bendawela, Gawarawela, Navale, Pipula, Dodamgolla, Demodara, Piyaranduwa and Kirinda in the Divisional Secretariats under paddy cultivation.
The extent of the cultivated paddy fields in 2012 is indicated by minor irrigations and rainfall in each of the Granary Officers' Divisions.
